Could not fix my Islandaire PTAC 26 which was showing E3 code. According to owners manual that means indoor coil sensor needs reset or is broken. They charged $312 for tech to come out so I paid. They eventually said they could repair it for $1435 or replace it for $2650. A new Islandaire PTAC lists for $999! But, also there is a 7-10 week wait! The tech didn’t know what he was doing, asked to use my bathroom and kept running out to “feed the meter” although I showed him where to park for free. I’m out $312 and got nothing. After the tech left I realized the unit works fine it just shows E3. So, they couldn’t even tell the unit was working or they just wanted to rip me off. What do you think? Buyer beware! The owner has now responded with a bunch of lies. You can read them below. Don't believe any of them. The tech had no clue what he was doing and would never have been able to repair anything. They don't want to repair anything just sell you an overpriced replacement. The tech did not even realize the unit was blowing heat! I had to show him. He was puzzled. The owner was not here but seems to know more about what happened. The unit does run in AC mode also. They are now really angry because they didn't charge me $450 for doing nothing. These guys don't know when to stop.
Timely, clean , good communication, good pricing
