We called in with a problem. Elmer was here the next morning - checking everything out in stormy weather. Everything was fixed. HS Enviromax has been always provided us with thorough and thoroughly competent work - and fairly priced.
Well done install of a mini split unit. Timely, very neat and clean and according to condo board specs.
HS Enviromax has done multiple projects at our home over the past 2 years and I couldn’t be happier. Super professional, very experienced installers and great communication throughout. Our house is small and not so easy to deal with, and I feel like they treated it as if it were their own home. Very satisfied and recommend them. I also use them every year for winter and spring maintenance to make ensure everything is running at capacity and in good shape.
WARNING: STAY AWAY – Unpermitted, Faulty Electrical and Gas Work, plus Unresolved Environmental Hazards For $8,500, HS Enviromax Heating & Cooling Corp installed a new boiler that started blowing the relief valves as soon as the heating season started. Due to this alarming development, A/C maintenance vendor SILA performed a 15-point heating inspection to ensure safety. Several critical, unresolved installation and environmental hazards have since been identified: • No Permits or Safety Inspections: The boiler was installed completely without the municipal permits required by law. This bypassed mandatory local safety inspections for high-pressure gas appliance installations. • No Proof of Proper Oil Tank Disposal: To date, HS Enviromax Heating & Cooling Corp has failed to provide legally required proof of proper decommissioning or disposal for the old heating oil tank, creating potential environmental and property liabilities. • Starved Gas Supply (Fire & Soot Hazard): The boiler was not connected to the manufacturer-specified 3/4” gas supply. HS Enviromax Heating & Cooling Corp used a 3/4” to 1/2” reducer to run 10 feet of 1/2” pipe, which is physically incapable of supporting a 185k BTU boiler. This starved the system of gas pressure by approximately 40%, preventing proper combustion and causing rapid soot fouling. • Incorrect Heat Set Points: The heat shutoff set point was set to 196°F (dangerously close to boiling) instead of the specified 180°F, likely to compensate for the starved gas line. • Disabled Safety Switches: SILA discovered the existing Low Water Cutoff safety switch was disconnected by HS Enviromax Heating & Cooling Corp and left completely non-functional. • Property Damage: Installation resulted in chipped brick steps and large dead patches on the lawn from heating oil spills. The Court Case Fact-Check The Peekskill Small Claims Court (Case Index: SC-000216-19/PE) ruled in favor of the homeowner, awarding the full amount requested plus court costs to cover the $2,000 in out-of-pocket expenses paid to SILA to correct these hazardous errors. When provided with instructions on where to send the court-ordered payment, Enviromax’s legal counsel, former Mayor of Peekskill, responded with threats of delaying the payment through the appellate terms for up to 18 months. **IMPORTANT NOTES:** * Court Judgment: Payment was only secured through a court judgment and a collection agency operating over multiple months, incurring fees, and receiving a percentage of the recovered funds. * False Court Statements: The downloadable court record (2019-ny-slip-op-33617-u.html) displays false testimony by the business owner, including the claim that a 3/4-inch gas pipe was installed as required by the boiler specifications. Photos clearly show a reducer was utilized instead. * Unwired Safety Devices: The owner falsely claimed to the court that wiring the external low water cutoff was unnecessary because the boiler features an internal unit. On the contrary, the Buderus Logano G234X has no factory-integrated low water cutoff, leaving the system completely unprotected against dry-firing. * Review Removal: A prior, nearly identical review was removed, pointing to reputation management intervention hired by Enviromax. Negative reviews have been systematically removed, as evidenced by numerous now-missing critical reviews. * Update August 2026: Currently paying $3,865+ to licensed contractors and municipal inspectors to legalize the unpermitted gas boiler installation following a May 2026 Town Building Department violation notice (copy posted). The building department issued notices of violation acting on an anonymous tip regarding the unpermitted oil-to-gas conversion performed by HS Enviromax (copy posted).
